Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Bible Verse Buddy mobile application (“App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

Description of Service

Bible Verse Buddy is a mobile application that provides users with Biblical verses, community features, and spiritual content. The App allows users to create accounts, make posts, and interact with Biblical content. We also provide a platform for users to share their thoughts and ideas with other people.

User Accounts and Registration

Account Creation

To use certain features of the App, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and completing the registration process.

Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and for all activities that occur under your account.

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the App’s settings. Upon account deletion, all associated data will be permanently removed from our systems.

How to Opt-Out Through Device Settings

You can disable analytics tracking at any time through your device settings:

For iOS Devices:

  1. Open Settings on your device
  2. Scroll down and tap Privacy & Security
  3. Tap Analytics & Improvements
  4. Toggle off Share iPhone Analytics and Share iCloud Analytics
  5. Additionally, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising
  6. Toggle off Personalized Ads

For Android Devices:

  1. Open Settings on your device
  2. Go to Google (or Google Settings)
  3. Tap Ads
  4. Toggle on Opt out of Ads Personalization
  5. For additional privacy, go to Settings > Privacy
  6. Tap Advanced > Google > Ads
  7. Reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads

Limit Ad Tracking:

  • iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising > Personalized Ads (toggle off)
  • Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization (toggle on)

In-App Opt-Out Options

You can also manage your data collection preferences within our app:

  1. Open the app and go to Settings or Privacy Settings
  2. Look for Analytics & Data Collection or Privacy Controls
  3. Toggle off Allow Analytics or Data Collection
  4. Your preferences will be saved and applied immediately

Data Retention and Deletion

  • Analytics data is retained for a maximum of 26 months
  • You can request deletion of your data by contacting us at [email protected]
  • When you delete the app, local data is automatically removed from your device
  • You must delete your account from the app using the profile screen (before deleting the app from your device) to remove your email address and username from our database. Or, email us at the email address listed above.
  • If you signed up for our email list, you must unsubscribe from it at the bottom of the emails we send to you. That can not be done through the app.
  • We remove all the remaining data related to deleted accounts in our database once a month. ie, prayer requests and testimonials.
  • We have up to 30 days to respond to any data deletion requests.

User Content and Posts

Content Ownership

You retain ownership of any content you post through the App, but you grant us a license to use, display, and distribute such content within the App.

Content Guidelines

All posts must comply with community standards and should align with the spiritual and respectful nature of the App. Always remember that public posts can be seen by anyone who uses the App.

Media

If you upload images to the app, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our app, you may opt in to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the App to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Post inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the App
  • No hate speech or discriminatory language will be allowed.
  • Any bullying will result in an immediate ban from the App.
  • No nudity or text suggesting adult materials is allowed.
  • Try to initiate a romantic relationship with any other users.

Any violations will result in a ban from our app/website using either your IP address, email address, or both.

Intellectual Property

The App/Website and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Bible Verse Buddy and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Disclaimers

Service Availability

We do not guarantee that the App will be available at all times or that it will be free from errors or interruptions. When a new version is created, you will be prompted to download the newest version. This will be required to continue using the Bible Verse Buddy App.

Content Accuracy

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bible Verse Buddy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the App. Our app is designed to help people in certain emotional situations, but it is in no way a cure for depression or suicidal ideation. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account and access to the App at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the App.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the new Terms within the App. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Tennessee, United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

The App may display advertisements from third-party advertisers. These advertisements are provided by external companies and are not endorsed by Bible Verse Buddy.
