Account Creation

To use certain features of the App, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and completing the registration process.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and for all activities that occur under your account.

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the App’s settings. We review deleted accounts every 30 days and remove all of the database records associated with those accounts. Anonymous data used for analytics will be kept for up to 24 months.

IP Address Collection

We collect IP addresses for the following reasons:

  • Analytics: We want to know where our app is used. Your IP address gives us your approximate location.
  • Blocking: We maintain the right to block users using their IP address if they violate our Terms of Service. This is seen as an extreme action by us and will only be done to deter the most egregious offenders.

Email Collection

We collect email addresses during:

  • Account Registration
  • When you make posts within the App
  • Users sign up for email lists

When you subscribe to our daily Bible verse email service, you are providing consent for us to contact you via the email address you provide. We will use your email address to deliver your requested daily Bible verse content and may occasionally send you marketing communications related to our app and services. You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link included in each email or by contacting us directly. We will not share your email address with third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

Analytics Data

We use analytics services to collect approximate location data to improve our services. We do not use precise geolocation services. This data is used anonymously by our analytics department to help us create a better experience for the users (you).

How to Opt-Out Through Device Settings

You can disable analytics tracking at any time through your device settings:

For iOS Devices:

  1. Open Settings on your device
  2. Scroll down and tap Privacy & Security
  3. Tap Analytics & Improvements
  4. Toggle off Share iPhone Analytics and Share iCloud Analytics
  5. Additionally, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising
  6. Toggle off Personalized Ads

For Android Devices:

  1. Open Settings on your device
  2. Go to Google (or Google Settings)
  3. Tap Ads
  4. Toggle on Opt out of Ads Personalization
  5. For additional privacy, go to Settings > Privacy
  6. Tap Advanced > Google > Ads
  7. Reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads

Additional Privacy Controls

Reset Your Advertising ID:

  • iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising > Reset Advertising Identifier
  • Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Reset Advertising ID

Limit Ad Tracking:

  • iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising > Personalized Ads (toggle off)
  • Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization (toggle on)

Data Retention and Deletion

  • Analytics data is retained for a maximum of 26 months
  • You can request deletion of your data by contacting us at [email protected]
  • When you delete the app, local data is automatically removed from your device
  • You must delete your account from the app using the profile screen (before deleting the app from your device) to remove your email address and username from our database. Or, contact us at the email address listed above.
  • If you signed up for our email list, you must unsubscribe from it at the bottom of the emails we send to you. That can not be done through the app.
  • We remove all the remaining data related to deleted accounts in our database once a month. ie, prayer requests and testimonials.
  • We have up to 30 days to respond to any data deletion requests.

User Content and Posts

Content Ownership

You retain ownership of any content you post through the App, but you grant us a license to use, display, and distribute such content within the App.

Content Guidelines

All posts must comply with community standards and should align with the spiritual and respectful nature of the App. Always remember that public posts can be seen by anyone who uses the App.

Bible Verse Buddy Journal

Bible Verse Buddy includes a personal journal feature that allows users to record and store private thoughts and reflections. Journal entries are not visible to other users and remain private within your account. While your journal content is protected from public access, authorized company personnel may access these records solely for technical support, security purposes, or legal compliance when necessary. We do not use journal content for marketing, analytics, or any other business purposes, nor do we share this information with third parties. Users maintain full control over their journal entries and can delete individual entries at any time using the delete function within the app (the blue trash can with an x in it). Please note that, as with any digital service, certain technical personnel may have access to stored data for operational and security purposes, even when such data is not visible to other users.

Media

If you upload images to the app, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
